The name for ACORD was based on this Bible verse:

A cord of three strands is not easily broken.

–Ecclesiastes 4:12

IMG_4981_10_0321_cchw_soupAndServiceOur March 21 Soup & Service luncheon was a great success. Many parishioners and families came and shared a meal and heard more about the work and mission of our local food pantry, ACORD. Thank you to all who donated food items to share with families in need in our community.

Please note that the Missions Committee is continuing its calling to help local families and asks that you make it a habit to bring items to give to ACORD and leave them in the bins provided outside the Preston Cutler Room. (Below you will also find some ways you may help ACORD.)

We will be preparing a list of items that are most needed soon. In the meantime, we learned on Sunday that tea and coffee are very popular so perhaps you can pick up an extra supply when you are next in the supermarket (fair trade would be wonderful!).

Blessings to you all who helped and will help us as we share our resources with our neighbors.

Student volunteers

Students 14 and older can volunteer on their own.
Students 13 and younger need to come with a parent (or other adult) who will work alongside them.

Like adults, students must arrange volunteer dates in advance. IMG_4995_10_0321_cchw_soupAndService
