Morning and Evening Prayer at Christ Church
The Chapel, above, is the setting each Monday through Friday for Morning Prayer, at 7:30 a.m., and Evening Prayer, at 5:30 p.m.
This service of readings of prayers, praises, psalms, and other Scripture readings, is taken from the Book of Common Prayer, and
historically has been an important part of Anglican spirituality. We read the service from the Prayer Book, and everyone can follow
along easily.
Each service lasts about 20 minutes. The door to the Chapel is open in the morning and evening, and we sit in the choir section
at the front. The chapel is a beautiful, peaceful, quiet space in which to meditate, pray, and listen to God. Some people come once
per week, some try to come every day, some drop in occasionally. Everyone in the wider community is welcome.

Rediscovering your ‘inner monastic’:
Have you found yourself saying at times, “I really should be getting more exercise . . .
I should be spending more time at the gym . . .”? Good sentiments indeed; as St. Paul himself said, “Physical training is of some value” but spiritual disciplines “hold promise for both the present life and for the life to come” – so, “discipline yourself for the sake of godliness” (I Tim.4:7,8). Have you considered joining us for the Daily Office when your schedule permits as an enjoyable discipline? Here is a way to join the “Great Tradition” of the Church’s prayer over the centuries, offering praise to God and praying for the needs of the parish, in the quiet and beautiful setting of the chapel. Indeed, a great way to begin and end your workday – join us whenever you can!
