As believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, we gather to worship the Lord Sunday after Sunday. Our focus is primarily vertical -- on the Lord -- during our worship services. But the horizontal element is important in our life as a church. Getting to know one another begins in worship in the ancient gesture of "passing the peace" where we greet one another, "The peace of the Lord be always with you." "And aso with you," and we sybolically reconcile before participating in the Eucharist.

Getting to know one another continues in coffee hours in the Preston Cutler Room following the 9 and 11 AM services, or at Bible and Breakfast following the 8 AM service. Some people like to come to Christ Church, worship with us, and slip out quietly afterwards without getting to know anyone. But many also want to be part of a community of people who share the Christian faith and care for one another. In a world where so many of our relationships are "virtual," on-line, and not face-to-face, the church is a place where real relationships are still possible. Many opportunities exist to help create a real, not virtual, community.
