Garden Guild

2013 schedule: We meet Monday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., then brake for dinner in the Preston Cutler Room or outside in the Secret Garden.

Here is our general pattern: Eight to ten folks clad in work gloves gather for a great time digging in the dirt, getting to know one another, and tending the church grounds. Under the leadership of volunteer, Abigail Butt, this crew of goes at it for about two hours, then they throw something on the grill and gather for a potluck meal. Newcomers are welcome at any time and can come with any level of gardening skills. Contact Abigail Butt for more information. You can add your name to the Garden Guild email list and be notified of future gatherings.

Projects tackled vary and include deadheading roses, weeding the many beds around the grounds, mulching, and pruning overgrown shrubbery. We have gone head-to-head against crabgrass, dandelions, ants, and weeds of all sorts. Our goal is to be good stewards of the church's grounds, to enhance their beauty for the enjoyment of parishioners and the wider community, and to encourage people to find peace, joy, and beauty when walking on our grounds.
This is very much an open group: the more, the merrier!
